Mold REMEDIATION

Problem

A high-end retailer of outdoor coats received a shipment with visible mold and damaged packaging due to a leaky container that was transporting the merchandise from the overseas manufacturer.

Solution

QCI received the coats, removed all the labels and tags, and disposed of the original packaging materials.  The coats were remediated in a timely manner utilizing QCI’s state of the art laundering facilities.  The garments were re-tagged and placed in new packaging ensuring the entire shipment was first quality.

ODOR REMOVAL

Problem

A high-end retailer received 15,000 units of children’s sleepwear which arrived with a very distinct odor of garlic.  Turns out that the sleepwear had been shipped in the same container as garlic oil and the aroma of garlic permeated the entire shipment.

Solution

Our in-house ozone chamber was the perfect solution to remove the smell.  We received the garments and hung them in the ozone chamber to cycle.  We were successful in removing the garlic smell entirely from the garments.  We then packed the garments into new polybags and corrugate and returned them with no residual odor to one very happy customer.

apparel ALTERATION

Problem

A large clothing brand received denim jeans that upon AQL inspection, the inseams were found to be out of tolerance.

Solution

QCI quickly inspected and sorted the jeans and our expert staff of seamstresses corrected every out of tolerance inseam, returning the entire shipment to first quality.

100% INSPECTION

Problem

A children’s clothing retailer received some bad news after the results of their inbound AQL inspection on 18,000 pairs of children’s pants.  The QA inspector discovered a broken needle fragment in the stitching.  As this was a major fail, the entire purchase order was put on hold for rescreening.

Solution

QCI performed a 100% inspection using sensitive needle detection scanners.  Upon completion, the shipment was resorted, repackaged and released back to the customer’s distribution center.

Crocking & COLOR BLEED

Problem

A high-end sportswear retailer received a shipment of 20,000 men’s two-tone golf polos that arrived with color bleed issues throughout the fabric of the shirt. Dye from the brighter sleeve color was bleeding onto the white body of the shirts.

Solution

Utilizing our state-of-the-art laundering facilities, we were able to perform a proprietary wash process to strip out the fugitive dyes and restore the polos to first quality.

Hardware Replacements

Problem

An outdoor retailer received 10,000 high-end rain jackets with defective snaps.  It was determined to be an error in the manufacturing process, however there was no time to return the shipment back overseas for repair without losing significant sales.

Solution

QCI worked directly with the manufacturer to obtain new snaps which were shipped directly to our west coast facility.  We worked to quickly remove and replace the defective snaps.  Pull tests were performed and the jackets were returned to first quality with no loss of sales.

LABEL CHANGES

Problem

An importer of women’s shirts was alerted that their shipment was flagged by US Customs for inaccuracies on the care content label.

Solution

QCI worked with one of our vendors to have new labels printed and shipped directly to our facility.  We removed the existing labels and sewed in the new and approved care content labels.

CPSC COMPLIANCE

Problem

Testing performed by a nationally accredited testing laboratory determined that a high content of lead was found in the buttons of over 1,000,000 children’s tops.  The lead content exceeded the limitations of the US Government and the CPSC compliance standards.  With the spring season fast approaching, the vendor had no time to return the merchandise overseas for correction.  This put the vendor at huge risk of lost sales and profits.

Solution

QCI removed and replaced the faulty buttons with CPSC compliant hardware.  Utilizing our vast array of top of the line industry equipment, we were able to return the goods to first quality and back to the retailer, on time!
